Our Team
TOMMY TARDIE
Founder
A New York City hospitality veteran of 20 years, Tommy has kept his finger on the pulse of this fast paced and ever-changing industry. His vision to create a sophisticated venue for food and spirits connoisseurs was realized when he opened The Flatiron Room NoMad in 2012.
-
Today, the Flatiron Room NoMad has gained international fame as a ‘must see’ destination when visiting New York City. Acclaimed whiskey author Fred Minnick writes: “Nothing like the Flatiron Room exists in the world,” And Thrillist magazine raves, “As anybody worth their weight in barley will assure you, the inimitable Flatiron Room has everything it takes to rise above the rest.”
The Flatiron Room NoMad’s success led to the opening of its sister location, The Flatiron Murray Hill, in 2017.
Tommy has made television appearances on Bloomberg, Fox News, Business Insider and Wealth TV to speak about his venues and trends in the industry. He has also been featured in Robb Report, Worth Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Modern Luxury, Social Life Magazine and Departures, among many others. He has vast knowledge about food and spirits and an even stronger passion for learning more. He regularly teaches classes on whiskey at both of his restaurants and at locations throughout the world. He sits on the Board of Directors for the NoMad Alliance, and serves as a long standing judge for the New York International Spirits Competition.
Before entering the hospitality industry, Tommy had a successful career as a marketing and advertising executive, serving as Vice President and Creative Director at global agencies such as Young & Rubicam and Draft Worldwide, where he developed creative strategies for such brands as Pepsi, Jack Daniels, Kirin Beer, Swiss Army Brands and Citibank.
